Commissions
To commission a painting is easy and fun - resulting in an individual, unique work of art that will last forever and go down the generations. A true statement piece for a certain room.

There are various ways to proceed - all open for easy discussion - email / 07885 235 915.
+ send me a photograph or email an image
+ personal site sketch or photograph the chosen location
+ discuss/listen to an idea and choose interpretation
+ identify home furnishing colours to tie in
+ abstracts and figurative
+ any shape, size, colour or style
I have created paintings for private individuals, businesses and participated in three large public sculpture trails. It is a wonderful challenge, creating a piece of art that is just right for that place and person.
Discussions, revision and agreement prove a key to success as everyone knows what to expect and any issues that might arise have been worked through at an early stage. Think of commissioning not only as a conversation, but as the chance to use me as a sounding board and share any thoughts that you have on the subject.
With all commissions, the client needs to consider the subject, scale and colour palette relevant to their space. In deciding the size and proportions, it can be useful to tack a piece of paper to the wall where the art is going to hang. This gives the chance to stand back and see how that shape and size will look. Providing photographs of the room and swatches of fabric and paints help towards the work being seamlessly tailored to your needs.
The payment process comes in two parts. I require a 50% deposit to begin the project. When I have completed the painting and the client has approved the image sent to them or after a visit, I invoice for the final payment of 50%, this must be paid before the artwork is delivered.
IMPORTANT: You will not have the painting until you are 100% happy with it.
Whether this requires changes, tweaks or a new idea, that is all fine. Reassuringly 99% of clients are delighted, but it is imperative that it is 100%.
Shipping costs and any duties payable are dependent on the destination. I can quote for shipping but the customer is liable for duties on receipt of the package. The good news for those living in North America is that there is no duty payable on original artwork. However, customs do charge for handling the paperwork dependent on the value of the shipment.
Don’t forget you are not just commissioning an object which will wear out and ultimately be replaced - these will live on in your family forever.
Their value will increase and you will take great pleasure in knowing that you wholeheartedly embraced the creative process and worked alongside an artisan to produce work of lasting value and beauty.
Please be reassured by the Reviews I have received.
